Karl Borgschulze

With more than 30 years of experience in the direct field with factories, tanneries and dye manufacturers in the important procurement markets, Karl has a comprehensive expertise in the optimisation of value chains and international sustainability management and is in charge of the strategic alignment of CSI. Due to his well-founded industry knowledge and global commitment, Karl has an extensive network of international NGOs, companies, government institutions and media circles. Against this background he has increasingly focused on the development of industry solutions in recent years.

Md Tauhid Bin Abdus Salam

Md Tauhid bin Abdus Salam is the founder of Classical Handmade Products Bangladesh. Tauhid received his degree from the BGMEA University for Fashion and Technology (BUFT) majoring in patterns and design. Social issues had always been an important concern for him. Starting as an initiative for poverty reduction in 2008, Tauhid forged Classical Handmade Product into a successful business that provides valuable jobs in a rural region, especially women. With a workforce of now 1700, Tauhid has truly impacted the community.


Md. Amir Hamza

Amir works at CHP as a Product Developer and Production Coordinator of pineapple and banana fiber, recycled material (cotton/denim clips), and oversees all aspects of dyeing and printing. After attaining his Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Engineering from Pabna Textile Engineering College (University of Rajshahi), he joined the Job Creation program of Mennonite Central Committee Bangladesh (MCC B) as a researcher for pineapple and banana fiber in 2012. He has 8 years of experience in all kinds of natural material as well as expertise on natural and chemical dyeing and printing. He has made great contributions in changing the socio-economic structure of indigenous community in the Modhupur region by creating jobs for underprivileged women by teaching them the skills to produce export-quality, hand-crafted items.
